Description: | ALMOST SS!!!! VERY NICE, UNCUT, ORIGINAL. She s not a trailer queen but great example of a classic survivor WITH WORKING FACTORY A/C. I m third owner on this strong driver with a recent 350 crate engine(as evidenced by paperwork shown & vin # this was originally a 2 barrel carbuerated engine. crate eng. has 4 barrel edlebrock carb/alum. intake....SUPER STRONG), turbo 350 trans(rebuilt when new eng. installed), positraction, power steering/power disc brakes, original non-working am radio but has aftermarket stereo/cd player with remote. Interior is all original and in very good shape as car that has been garaged all it s life. There is a slit in vinyl at stitching on driver s seat cushion about 2"-2 1/2" long that s covered with matching upholstery tape. It has nearly new tires on gm rally wheels. Paint is decent for 10 yr old restoration. New dual exhaust. Vinyl top looks great with no rusting from underneath as is usual for most vinyl top cars. I bought monte carlo dash and chevelle ss guages at charlotte this spring with intention of cloning to SS but didn t have the heart to start changing this very original car. these parts will be included in the sale. As seen, it already has SS emblems and stripes. I ve installed most of rubber weather stripping for side glass and trunk and have the rest uninstalled. The car is clean and dry in the engine compartment and on the underside. It had been a Georgia car all it s life til brought it to Tennessee about 2 years ago. It was bought new at A.F.Smith Chevrolet in Fairburn, Georgia. I have original dealer delivery check-off sheet, p.o.p., owner s manual, etc. Odometer shows 71+K miles. I ve been told by several "experts" they believe this is true miles. I HAVE NO WAY OF VERIFYING THIS AND I AM NOT REPRESENTING THIS TO BE A LOW MILEAGE CAR. You decide for yourself.
I can send more pics if needed and you re invited to inspect and drive it. It s located about 20 miles north of Knoxville, TN just off I-75. I ve driven it from near Knoxville to Charlotte 3 times, to Nashville twice, to Atlanta on several occasions and locally most weekends. It consistently gets about 17-18 mpg @ 65-70 mph with a/c operating.
Though this is not a "showroom" restoration, I believe it is well above average, solid and dependable example of "yesterday s chevrolet". Drives straight as an arrow down the road at any speed. I ve owned it for about 2 yrs and I ve decided to downsize my "herd".
I have clean Tn title in my name in hand.
